Pig butchering scam explained

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

she's proud of her job?
perhaps you should explain what she is doing, if she thinks there is nothing wrong with it
she is seriously in need of guidance!
I've tried explaining the poor choice it may be, I've made my point. - I'm just a foolish Barang who doesn't understand.
Try to see it from her perspective.

Barang people are given money trees by their Kings, or whoever "owns" them.
These trees never stop growing more money.

It may be inconvenient for a barang to lose the money in their pocket, or even in their bank account.
But, it doesn't matter in the long run since the tree will keep growing more.

For a Cambodian it's much different, because HM does not give them money trees.

She's really just like an adventurous kid stealing some apples from the next village, in the end nobody is hurt.
I'll be honest , I have no idea what you are trying to say here ?🤷‍♂️

From her perspective "it's a job that pays well on commission" .. I'm fairly certain that's about as far as she has thought it through

May your friend receive everything she deserves and be recognized by people in high places.
not MY friend , I personally cant stand her
There are many aspects of the job. She could be just one of the pretty girls hired to be a model face and body for the scammers. High pay, gets to dress up in expensive clothes and jewelry and wear fashion cosmetics.

As well as the side gig of having sex with the high earner guys or the boss. A bonus for some.

Not doing the actual scamming. So no guilt involved.

Bullshit. Predatory criminals like her rationalize their livelihood while the harm they cause increases.
Hers is a perfect example of why investors avoid Cambodia. Business as usual.
Dressing up phony, thieving pigs with pearls don't change them pigs no how.
Wrassle with them and you both get dirty. But only one of you will enjoy it.
