I have a Khmer family friend that works at one of these places and considers it a good job. consciously (to her) there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it

she's proud of her job?
perhaps you should explain what she is doing, if she thinks there is nothing wrong with it
she is seriously in need of guidance!

I've tried explaining the poor choice it may be, I've made my point. - I'm just a foolish Barang who doesn't understand.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 12:29 pm

Barang people are given money trees by their Kings, or whoever "owns" them.
These trees never stop growing more money.
It may be inconvenient for a barang to lose the money in their pocket, or even in their bank account.
But, it doesn't matter in the long run since the tree will keep growing more.
For a Cambodian it's much different, because HM does not give them money trees.

I don’t know what made me watch that but it took my mind off my predicament for awhile
Speaking of high places , …
… 34 1/2 minutes into the BBC documentary is when someone decided to jump .. off
I was so angry a few times I got scammed. The last $7000 was just a really bad realization
I’m glad I didn’t die then
