The AQ isn't very good at the moment, judging by my sinuses. The lack of rain washing the crap away doesn't help.
Living in the mountains in Norway, a 2 hours drive from larger Norvegian cities, I must say that arriving in BKK or PNH really hits me hard every time. The air is not anything like I am used to and it takes me a few days to adjust every time.
Hardly surprising. The air is a lot hotter here for a start.

Not sure that's a factor. Scandinavian saunas have pretty hot air without giving people respiratory problems, quite the opposite in fact.

I am surprised so many people here are in denial about the air quality in Cambodia. If you look around, you can simply see it's bad, and if you climb a few stairs, your body will tell you too. The combination of no rain, loads of pollution because of traffic, burning rubbish, burning fields, plus imported pollution from China makes air quality pretty bad this of year, no matter what the authorities say.

Flew from Phnom Penh to Bangkok today and the haze was even worse than last month, so was Bangkok, but Bangkok got better during the day after some rain. When I arrived at 10 AM the skyscrapers from Bangkok were invisible when approaching Suvarnabhumi airport.

I'm not in denial, it has been very dusty recently I just haven't really noticed any more smog than usual. There's always a cloud of pollution over the city, you can see it clearly on some approaches. However even if the air was totally clean it still wouldn't feel as fresh as the breeze on a mountain in northern Europe. Hot still air just doesn't feel fresh.

Environmental minister says Cambodia’s smog is solely the result of pollution from rich countries and climate change (aka global warming). As well as denying the forests are disappearing, just that Khmer trees are naturally more slender (and beautiful) than those of other countries.

It’s all about the optics.

Air in the tropics is hardly ever still. There's less lateral movement (if you rule out the trade winds and thunderstorms) but much more vertical movement than in Northern Europe.

It hasn't seemed like that in the capital for a long time. If I go on my roof there's a cool breeze but down on the street it's not moving much.

If it’s really negative, the posters are found and arrested.

So, yeah. Please only believe official government reports for the truth of what happens in Cambodia.

It would be great if CEO could apply the same policy as Facebook with some of your posts.
Try giving a source to your input. Otherwise they are just inane, partially correct ramblings.
