Overstay issues

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

You met him and your friend met him so we all know him. By your logic the girl my buddy and I met last night and thought would be a good time is now being sought by all forum members.

I know only what he has posted, from his original post about being stabbed by a meth head gf, being scammed by his business partner etc. We all have different values, morals and tastes. If you want uniformity, the military or prison are two places you can find it, call me crazy but I prefer diversity.
Dude, what does that even mean?

Had a methhead skank girlfriend
Skipped out on a hospital bill
Overstayed my visa by almost two years
Repeatedly slagged off an ex business partner
Asked for a magic wand, then lashed out at the reality that there wasn't one

Does this mean I don't qualify as a Top Bloke in the KoW?
Magic wand eh?
You have nothing of note to contribute so why even bother?

Can you briefly summarize the solid info, and how it has helped you.
What's the plan moving forward?

Thanks. :beer3:

To get a new passport you need file a police report that it was Lost or stolen, without the report no embassy will issue a new one.
This isn't true. At all.
I agree dont know about here but my passport was stolen in thailand. I didnt get a police report. Just went to embassy, they asked loads of questions and had to waut a few days for a replacement.
Correct. I got a stolen passport replaced with no police report too. This will depend on your country of citizenship and very possibly on the consulate or embassy involved.

I apologize for not stating my opinion clearly.

Feelgood and his friend have met you and believe that you are a decent guy. Feelgood states you are a decent guy, down on your luck and a fellow forum member in need of help. Feelgood can not understand why all forum members do not view this the same and believe that those that differ in opinion are trolling you( in capital letters for emphasis).

I have not met you and know you only by what you post. I do not think a decent guy has a relationship with a meth head, does not pay his bills, accuses others on social media of being scammers without merit, refers to his current gf as a skank etc. All from your mouth, not what others have said about you.

I believe that Feelgood is wrong to state that simply based on his view of you we should all have the same opinion. I believe that a diversity of opinions based on each forum members values and morals is the best. I believe that I am capable of determining my own opinions and do not want my opinions dictated to me. This is a forum, not the military and as such there should be no desire for regimented thinking or opinions.

I do not wish you bad luck but I have no sympathy for you. You won t pay a hospital bill because you don t like scammers and yet are willing to scam so that you can stay in Cambodia. I find this to be a hypocritical set of values. I believe that we are all the masters of our fate and control our reactions to situations. I believe that if we are to blame others for our shortcomings we have also surrendered any responsibility for our actions.

I hope this clarifies my position.

I do think the issue as to whether OP is a decent guy is off topic. It's neither here nor there in terms of the advice he sought here. Members will no doubt form their own views based on what they've read however there is no need to overtly state it here.

I also think members have come to the conclusion that there is really no 'easy fix'...given the OP's situation financially and his desire to want to remain in KOW. Because of this, I sense some members have taken the view he should just 'face the music' with regard to the situation he now finds himself in...but again, that can come across as judgmental.

sorry but dont believe you, if that was true, anyone could lose, have stolen or sell their passport, and just go get a new passport, lie and they would issue one. Of course you could just lie to the police as well.
what country are you from cause this is NOT true for America.

Even so if you did get a new one, before they allowed you to leave the country, they would verify you entered legally and when.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

And when i say lost. My hotel was looted whilst i was evaquated to the hills in the back of a pick up.so in all likelihood it was stolen
It wasnt there when i returned the next day.
