if you think drinking cheap beers from a top star hotel on otres 2 is being "far from the scene" or providing "lush beach vibes"shnoukieBRO wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2017 12:17 amI'm talking about the best Beach Experience, meaning vibes. Actually the far end of Ochoteal is a bit of a 'pretty' spot, as is the private Beach in Sokha. Butttt....If you want to feel far from the scene then drinking cheap beers from a top star Hotel bar on the Otres 2 Beach is hard to beat for *lush beach vibes*, IMO.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2017 7:05 pm
lol whoever thinks the best beaches in Sihanoukville are in Otres are very il informed lol
but im not going to give away the location of the better beaches, because i want them to stay that way,
if people are interested they can inbox me
There are spots where there is rubbish, but was none in front of the Hotels Bar, overlooking that Beach. Ahhhhh.....
then you seriously missing out lol
Sokha is nice, i like going there for a swim sometimes,
but its not the best

I stayed in Sok Sobay a few months ago and quite liked it, the food was pretty good. It becomes hell on Saturdays though when the weekend market is on, with very loud music until the early morning.

Re: Otres Sucks Too...
The thing is, no matter how much research you do, you never really know what a place is like until you arrive. I'm just killing time until I go back to China at the end of August. It could always be a lot worse.
Sok Sabay is pretty damn good for the price (all things considered). I just wasn't prepared for the 'stoner hippie village' location... and the DUST...in WET season!
The beach road along Otres 1 & 2 is an almost impassable track of mud and water-filled potholes. I drive my Airblade moto like a dirt bike (need a Honda Baja, XR or CRF250L). The Khmers think I'm 'nuts'... LOL.
No Saturday Night Market/smoke fest/ingest lysergic acid diethylamide 25/psilocybin/peyote/ecstasy/ketamine/MDMA etc., groove to shit 'Psy Trance' music... and fuck in the rafters until 6:00 AM last week... thank goodness.

You could be next.

That's whats wrong mostly about the place. That road is terrible, although great fun with a motorbike when muddy.Cruisemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2017 12:58 pmThe beach road along Otres 1 & 2 is an almost impassable track of mud and water-filled potholes. yes, depends on which kind of 'beach experience' you wants. Head to the Islands for the best.

the Road to Otres was all just dirt when Otres was a good place to go to get away from crowds and into the countryside by the seashnoukieBRO wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2017 1:53 pmThat's whats wrong mostly about the place. Re: Otres Sucks Too...
I think that ROAD sucks, but there's no denying that it can be pleasant on the Beach, especially when you find the right place to chillout. I wasn't impressed with much else there though. Still will be interesting as to what the future holds there, and if it gets a facelift of 'sorts'.
Then again any Beach lovers out there should really head to the Islands if they want great Beaches.
