Otres being ruined by Chinese

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Damn that’s crazy. There’s a lot of empty land around Otres that’s never been for sale (publicly) so I can only assume it’s been sold on masse already.

There was talk about there being a horse racing track there.

I would not be at all surprised if Otres land price overtakes downtown/beach Sihanoukville within a couple of years.

I have a feeling that these Chinese are going to take over these coastal cities like dominos.

The entire south coast will have approximately 5 million chinese residents in less than ten years. Ten years ago Shenzen was an empty swap, the model is there and it's exactly the same. From the Vietnamese border to the north of the Sihanouk peninsular. A second port in Steung Hav is already being built, Bokor Mountain, the kampot Coast, the rapid expansion of Shv. The huge developments in Ream. The whole south coast is going.

You've failed to apologise for the behaviour of your race. It's about time you made amends.

Yup! I spent six years working in China and at one point thought I might retire on the Cambodian Riviera. That is, until a year ago when I visited Sihanoukville, Kampot & Kep... and saw what was happening.

I've retired... to Vietnam. :D

P.S. The Chinese are here too... but in way smaller numbers... and only in certain areas... and mostly only as tourists (although, I think Phu Quoc is phucked for the phuture).
You could be next.

More like thirty years ago, it developed incredibly fast but just not that fast.

Even the Chinese want to get away from the Chinese.
