"Ordinary" Visa Renewal

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. "Ordinary" Visa Renewal

Post by Otis »

"I got the "ordinary" = $35 rather than $30 - visa at the airport.

Am coming up to 30 days and would like to renew for 1 or 2 months. Where best to do in PP? If I go to Sville can I do it cheaper there? Is is cheaper or better to go through a place like Lucky Lucky or go to government office?n I do

Renew at Lucky Lucky - either for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. 1 and 3 month extensions are single entry only (e.g. leave Cambodia - you need a new visa). The other two options are multiple entry.

All visa renewals in SHV get sent up to PP, so it costs an extra ten bucks or so and a couple of more days to do it here.

I know that I know this, but confirming as I have a mate coming for six weeks - tourist visa can be renewed once, right?

from my experience Visa renewals in SHV cost the same as PP, and take the same amount of time 3-5days now it takes, one of my Cambodian friends in SHV got my visa extended just after new year for $45, i went to PP to get it extended once ($50) and due to a mid week public holiday i was stuck in PP for 9days waiting to get my passport back, wont be making that mistake again

Visa thread here: https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/the-road/ and there are probably other thread on the subject - do a forum search.

Don't think it makes much difference if you do it in PP or SV. As Jamie says, it's not worth going up to PP yourself to save money. Price varies, so shop around and you can always ask nicely if they do discount.

Obviously not in the Samudera, then, they definitely charge extra.
