Reading through some of these posts and scanning through the news over there is depressing, if this is how it's going to be God knows how long before the place opens up, many countries are getting over 20 thousand cases per day, imagine trying to lock down 20 thousand apartment blocks or 20 thousand streets, most scientists admit covid isn't going away, we will just contain it and learn to live with it like seasonal flu, if cambodia thinks covid will be eradicated like smallpox they are barking up the wrong tree

Poor old Larry can't catch a break. His lawyer friend, and one of his best customers, dies. He then gets closed down after 8pm and now the Kiwi Mart opposite gets closed.

As the customer with Covid-19 visited on the 21st of March, and it was the 27th by the time they got to the scene, how many people who have visited in the interim could be caught up in just this one store?

I can't see these closures being effective. It's like chasing an invisible burglar 6 days after he has left the scene.

Did you have to scan in with the Covid app?

As doc said how many people have visited between 21st and 27th, it's crazy, watch out for the mufty squad or you may be off for a 2 week lie down

They must have hundreds a day going in and out, plus 3 or 4 sitting in there on their phones. Multiply that by 6 days. That's going to be over 1000 people. Kiwi doesn't insist on scanning in (at least at my local one) so they are effectively untraceable unless they scour phone records of everyone near the front door or outside nearby - it's not that precise. If they do that make that number 2/3/4/5000, take your pick.

These recent deaths are mostly of people turning up at hospital in a right state and dying within hours or maybe a day of being admitted. The woman in SNK was tested positive post mortem.

They have no idea where they contracted the virus, they are playing catch-up and cannot win that race with a 6 day gap between the visit of an infected person and their arrival on the scene.

If everyone checked in their task would be much easier. Select phone numbers in database, send SMS with quarantine request, finished. If all people would adhere....

And no, I am too lazy to check in anywhere as well... And I don't know if I would self quarantine if I went in that mart briefly three days after an infected person visited....
