One Good Wooden Leg Deserves Another

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Tibia honest, I think the guy deserves some help. It sounds like he stands on his own two feet and doesn't ask for handouts.... You guys need taking down a peg(leg) or two. You just make gags about any subject for shins and giggles. I'm quite (knee)captivated by this story actually.

Making jokes about this seems to be hip at the moment.

Years ago I was driving along a road in Alice Springs when I guy on a motorbike crashed in front of me. He slid down the road and one of his legs headed in a different direction. My eyes must have been like dinner plates as I could hardly believe what I was seeing. Anyway, he got up, hopped over to his leg, put it back on and rode off.

Never seen anything quite like it since.

Thanks for the referral to the Cambodia Trust. Do you know their phone or address in PP? I can't find that info on their website.

Nothing more recent than what you've got there as contact address and phone.

Here's a fairly recent article on the subject by the PPP. Exceed are moving into a higher end market for people with money, but say that this will finance the poorer patients. I'd contact them and see what they propose. Otherwise, they mention 3 other NGOs - I suppose that 1 is Handicap International, but haven't been able to track down the other 2, but there is 1 called ROMP - sorry no details.
Teap said that right now in Cambodia, there are three other NGOs offering free prosthetics services and, including Exceed’s, a total of 11 clinics in the country. There are no other private, high-quality prosthetic services offered here, he said.

Thanks. Passed this info to the family.

Hopefully he will be enabled to, with greater agility and elan, leap upon his betrothed when the moment arrives.
