One country, one food item

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

Baxters soup from Lucky. Perfect for the impending winter. Made in the town of Fochabers in Morayshire. Try saying that after a few cold drafts.

You must be a happy man, if that is the only thing that you are missing.

England: Steak and Kidney Pie and Mash
Germany : Wild Boar Stew
Italy: Pizza
Holland : Fries
China: Sweet and Sour Chicken,Chill Crispy Beef, Fried Rice
Austria : Horse-burger
Wales: Welsh Rabbit

You forgot

NZ - Paua Fritter
Australia - Any sheep beyond buggery
Solomon Islands - Your enemy slow cooked in a big pot

I think you sold China short - probably the widest cuisine in the world - remember the old joke "the only thing that the Chinese wont wat with 4 legs is a table"

I may also add that the best Wild Boar stew I ever ate was in Bukit Bintang in KL for $6 - absolutely awesome

Wow. I can't think of a single item that fits Vlad's qualification.

I guess I really just don't go shopping in supermarkets.

The stuff I buy is random as hell, and always changes. I guess I'm one of those weird people that actually likes "change" and complete randomness.

Maybe Tostitos (those corn tortilla chips, I'm guessing American). I love those things. I would eat those with salsa and jalapeno cheese dip every day with every meal if being perfectly round was a desired body shape.

No matter what else I buy at the supermarket, those are always the first thing to be consumed and are finished quickly.

Ok, maybe that does answer Vlad's question after all.
"Life is too important to take seriously."

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."
