I don't know, but you'll have to wait another 7 months for that...
My prediction is he'll still be dead by then.

Fugitive Tycoon/Oknha Thong Sarath arrested in Vietnam!

Fugitive tycoon and murder suspect Thong Sarath was arrested in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday night.

The real estate developer and okhna, the prime suspect in the November 22 murder of Shimmex Group chairman Ung Meng Cheu, was arrested by Ministry of Interior Internal Security police acting in conjunction with Vietnamese authorities, police said.

“He was arrested in accordance with the court’s warrant for his arrest, and was arrested by our Ministry of Interior’s Internal Security Police forces in collaboration with Vietnamese police in Vietnam on Thursday night,” Internal Security chief Major General Seang Sen told the Post on Friday morning.

Is this the guy who's parents were released from prison because they didn't like it very much?

They were released on bail, then re-arrested when they tried to flee to Vietnam.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

From which they'll get a public token slap on the wrist to keep the masses happy, serve a little more time, get released again because auntie doesn't like it, and try the other border.

What a country.

That's what I'd usually expect going on previous track records, but ST's parents have been in jail for a long time, and now ST has finally been arrested. It seems the authorities are taking this case seriously. Why is another matter, obviously they have fallen from favor, we'll have to see how it develops.

This might need it's own thread, but I had a long conversation with a Chinese-Khmer guy who works for the UN the other day. We discussed the sudden decrease in aid dollars coming into the country, and he pointed out that Cambodia has so openly refused to work to the conditions set on aid money - such as a justice system and decreased corruption - that aid nations and organizations are refusing en masse to renew programs and donations. He reckons that some parts of government are now actually starting to show a glimmer of understanding cause and consequence, but also stated the country is in rapid decline with no sense of improvement.
