Official guide to being a tight arse in Siem Reap

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

:beer2:
my place is $230 + bills, its a great new modern place, worth the extra $100 bucks i used to pay for my last place

yeah i usually go once a month, usually alone but there are the odd times ill go with a friend

yeah shv changes so much every year, the place looks completely different from when i first came 5 years ago, espesh serendipity/beach road and the surrounding areas, beach road is all concrete buildings now and they got rid of all the tin roof shacks
i prefer rural cambodia, i guess thats why i end up drinking down the ktvs on the chicken farm these days, but theyve even recently concreted half of that road now haha
FYI jamie;
I pay $280 for a 2 bedroom , 2 bathn 2 air cons, fully furnished House 1.5 kms from the beach
Electric $20, internet ( 20 mbs) $18, cable $10

Can get a very nice furnished studio with aircon for under $175, 1 bedroom condo with the gym. pool etc for around $250
yep i was actually looking at a fully furnished condo with kitchen in Hua Hin late last year, think it was around 7000baht/$200, included gym + pool etc... tempted me to move back there

Wowzers!

Never seen advertised prices like that in Hua Hin. Maybe Jamie has a secret? Unless it was like 5K out of town?

PR, are those Phuket prices?

Where is it cheapest to live in Thailand?

Phuket prices , u can get even cheaper if u head inland to Kathu or phuket town

IF i didn't love the sea i'd be living up north. 2/3 rds the price of phuket which makes it cheaper than Cambodia UNLESS u like beong on the piss everyday
Now if u went to places in Issan 1/2 the price of phuket but who wnats to live there

Those places way on the other side of the highway,
better off living in Pattaya on the other side of Sukumvit, nice 1 bedroom condos for 5-6,000 baht
at jomtien ( outside pattaya)u can get sa view studios for 6-8,000 baht

I never cared for Hua hin, been thru there lots of times and used to stop, now stop south at Prachup khiri Khan or north at Cha am

Fascinating.

But why would you wanna live in Pattaya, but be away from the action? Unless that appeals?

Mind you i stayed there some weeks a while back, it was too busy and congested i couldn't understand how anyone could live there longer than a month or two, unless they were having free fun or something.

Chiang Mai looks better and cheaper?
