number 9 guest house back in the day

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

August of 94. I had just arrived in Cambodia and spent the first night in the Capitol. Hated it for a variety of reasons, inluding it being very noisy. Next day asked around for recs for a different place and was told of the #9. Went down to check it out, and while loking at a room I asked the owner if it was quiet at night. He told me straight out "No", they play music late, the walls are thin, etc. i didnt stay there but really appreciated his honesty, so went back many times over the next few years to eat there - good Indian food, cheap curries.

Now that I think about it, I think I did spend one night there, but it was because I stayed to late and didn't want to try to get home.

Either the lakeside from the #9, or the #9 from the #10.
