Is it normal for electric shower heaters not to be grounded?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Borum-Ex frm TOForum wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 9:57 pm I've installed a Beko at home, nothing but plastic on the outside, very narrow electricity inlet, sealed it just a bit more, and it's very well designed against potential incoming water in general, costed me 85$ at Chhoun Leap on SH blvd near Olympic/st 163 area. They suggested me to come and install it for an additional extra 10$, but the latter i politely refused... They're about the best place you can find for any electric stuff, TV's, Washing Machines, etc... If interested in their exact location just PM me!
They are great value! I always recommend them too.
Bekos are pieces of Turkish shit.

Just to clarify I was referring to Chhoun Leap, not the product Borum was referring to.

You shower in a small room with live mains power, coming out of the wall, within a foot of your shower head; using a cheap resistance heater, chewing a heap of amps for fa return, installed by a Khmer, in a 2 wire society and have to ask if its safe?
(Do i get a prize for the longest continuous sentence?)...... bring on the tefflers and punctuation police!

But what is the alternative and for the stupid (me) which ones are ok and which not if a person wants a shower with hot water? Are people saying that no box type shower installation should be trusted here?
Rewire the house properly ( with running earth).
Get a solar hws.
Take cold showers.
3 options for you there.

I called the manager today and started by showing him the killer electric teapot.

Turned it on, he touched the metal rim, no problem. I touched it, big shock. He looks at me like I'm kind of dumb and says "Yes, because you're in bare feet."

I asked him to take his shoes off and touch it and he got shocked and his solution of course was "Don't touch there."

He said he'll have a look at the shower. I have been unable to replicate yesterday's shock.

And always wear flip-flops when showering!
Is that just general advice or electricity-specific?

a knucklehead electrician wired one of these wrongly for me in Australia years ago and it melted the plastic water feed pipe first go.
luckily no one was standing under it.
later found out the electrician had a metal plate in his head from a moto wreck.

Yes, been taking cold showers. As for the flip flop thing.... that isn't going to save a person's life in a shower, I don't think
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

I have wondered abut the flip flops. I decided they are provided so you don't get your feet wet when using the loo after someone has showered.
