Night Club Noise Inflation

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Yes, but there is actually a Prakas on noise levels.
Thanks Hanno, yes I know a case where the sangkat installed a noise monitoring device in a complainant's house. That club was then told to improve sound-proofing and to turn it down. The problem, however, is it slowly creeps back up because those f*cking DJs (who bob up and down with their headphones round their necks behind the obligatory apple laptops) cannot stop themselves from going to the max in that kind of club. Meanwhile, at the new Raqia Republic in st 214, I noticed they have turned off the big flashing light show outside and turned down the volume. I am guessing they pissed off the residents of the hiso Maline Apartments which is located dead opposite.
I was chatting to the manager of Vito Club, he was saying Khmers are going off the clubs with the big noise. I hope he's right, if only for the sake of the staff who work in them.
I have heard the same, the the increase in apartments and luxury condos going up, they don't want all that noise.

Wait a few more weeks till electioneering time and everyone will know what loud noise is ,,, blasting out from mobile trucks with waving banners.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

We had a funeral just down the house. The Missus and some other locals went to see the village chief and they had to remove the loudspeaker they had installed on the roof. Still loud but at least I could hear myself think after that.

The night club in question is still noisy till late, past 3am sometimes. The expensive apartment block opposite seems to have been outranked.

Damn, if only we were living somewhere that properly regulated all these things. ALL these things, not just the ones that piss us off individually. Fuk me, we would be living in the West I s'pose. As I used to be known for saying - "If you don't like it here, you can always fuck off to somewhere else" 8)
And just to get in before my detractors - YES I have had a couple of beers tonight. Doesn't change my opinion of the bloody whingers here but.

I'm so pleased to hear you have stopped telling people to fcuk off. And what a guy you must be never to complain about anything. Can't say I've ever met anyone who has achieved that.

Its not so much the complaining that gets to me, but the racist comments that come with it "Fucking stupid country" would be an example of that.
Also, please show me where I have ever said that I complain about nothing? Of course I do. No where is Utopia. But I try to keep it in perspective and keep the racist bullshit out of it.
As for stopped telling people to fuk off? If I feel they need to be told to, then I certainly will and do. I do it in real life too, not just on the 'net btw.
