News,, Value for money

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Post by Duncan »

I have always purchased the Cambodian Daily, being the cheapskate OAP that I am, cause I need my daily fix of a laugh every morning. but which newspaper is in your opinion the best paper for news in/on Cambodia.
We have,
Cambodian Daily at 2000 r
Khmer Times at 3000r
PP Post at 4000r
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I used to read the Daily, everyday.

Now that I have internet, I get all my news from CEO.

But you would still need to read the Cambodian Daily if you wanted to have a good old laugh .

When we didn't have WiFi or Smart phone, we use to buy or rent them. I was thinking of some children while I stopped at the red traffic light. No more boys on the street to sell newspaper.

I read what I want to read. But I prefer Phnom Penh Post and RFI.

I get the Cambodia Daily every Monday if possible. There's a "learn English" section in the middle and I'm hooked on the How many words can you find ? game. Sometimes it can last me for days - but then I am easily amused.

Kandal House has CD and the PPP, so then I read both. Otherwise, I will buy one or the other when I'm out and I've got time to kill, since I don't have a smart phone.

The Phnom Penh Post is the best paper here. They're all awful but it's the least awful of the 3. For those struggling to read the Daily online for nothing - learn to delete specific cookies... really, that's how weak their web design is. At first you will be delighted to beat the article number ban until you realize that if you read more than 3 "news" items (in one month) in that paper your head explodes.
