NEW TOYS! CEO is upgrading!

This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything Cambodia-related. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.

OrangeDragon wrote:well it's all the same site now, so if it works on the number and not the url it means "something" is blocking the images from the URLs.

Example... your avatar is:
https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/downloa ... 263175.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and also
http://108.166.183.28.com/download/file ... 263175.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They point to exactly the same thing now that the DNS has updated globally. Click on both and see what you get.
I have no issues with avatars. But, yes, I have noticed the odd symbols in various places.

Clicking on the first link above works for me.
The second link gives a 'Server not found' error. Immediately.

However, this one works http://108.166.183.28/download/file.php ... 263175.jpg
[notice there's no dot com]

The avatars - possibly a cache issue, confusion caused by duplicate files for same reported (but physically different) domain. Try clearing the cache just for giggles, Jaap.

there's not supposed to be a dot com... it's an ipaddress (which is what the dot com names get translated into by dns behind the scenes). weird that it's not working for you.

and the odd symbols will be a universal issue with the database. everyone sees them like that.

Umm, it was you who gave the dot com in the link!

I just have a habit of assuming people hard refresh (Shift-F5) before posting issues.

LoL, I've honestly never heard of shift+f5 before.

Does that make me a bad person? Image
