New bar open today - free beer!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. As in all things in life it is "your choice" to visit and have a look and make a subjective judgement on the pricing based on comfort, entertainment, music etc or to go somewhere else to have a drink. The bar owner is offering you a free beer to have a look at his bar. If you choose to stay then you know the price of an Angkor can, if not you had a free beer.

Go on............... what have you got to lose by checking it out?

I will drop in this evening to make my choice.

OK, I guess it was a ploy of yours to invite both CEO members and TOF members to free drinks at the same time.,,,, So how did the battle go ? Is you bar still standing.?
How many security guards do you employ ?

Is it a girlie bar or not? Maybe to you it doesn't matter, but to me it does. That's why I asked and you didn't.

Thanks for otherwise stating the obvious.

For a non girlie bar it has to be really comfortable to charge 1,75 for a freakin can of angkor.
But I will check it out from across the street, looking over while buying some baguette.

Where do you guys usually drink? I pay $2.50 to $3.00 for a beer most times. I must be in the wrong (or right) places.

I would gladly pay $1.75 in an establishment that, as King Keil calls it, is really comfortable. If I remember correctly Rosewood charges me $4 for their fine craft. In a place like that I hardly look at the price tag.

This is a Street 144 bar and it looks like:

So what's the normal price in a non comfortable bar? And what is a non comfortable bar? That place "snack bar" on Street 19? Always want to wander in there. Seems to be the same guys inside every evening. Good Times bar down by 172 is pretty uncomfortable but I think I paid $2.50 for a beer there. Can't remember as it was a while back.

Suddenly I feel like I've been overpaying for years. Reminds me of the time our bill came at a high rise KTV and it was $100. I think I had two beers lol.

Black Cat Bar, draft Anchor and Angkor $1 until 9pm, or until 7.30pm when the band is playing and then $1.50 thereafter.

Black Pearl, draft Tiger $1.50 all night

Mings Bistro, draft Anchor and Angkor $1.25 until 8 pm, and then $1.75. They have an excellent collection of Whisky BTW.

The price the OP quoted was for canned beer. The prices you are talking about here are for draft beer. How much does that witch's coven the Black Cat charge for canned beer? Also, OP whats the normal price for draft beer?
