I'm mystified. Are these drugs or similar unavailable are the several world class hospitals in BKK and elsewhere in Tland/ Or in Thai pharmacies in general?

I'm not a doctor of heath professional. I do have a close friend who had hep-c and underwent a long difficlt course of drug therapy in the US and is now cured. I suggest your friend go back to the Western country he came from [if he came from one] and get taken care of by whatever health care system prevails there. Hep-c is serious and more than life threatening.

Alternatively, go to one of the good value but far from cheap major hospitals in BKK and get medically supervised treatment.

PR, no idea about your friend's case, but just some experience with hep C.
You can live a long time with Hep C - and some people prefer to live with the disease because the treatment can be devastating.
I am unsure why there is such a hurry to get medication here. Has your friend run out of drugs ? Otherwise, if he wants to start a treatment, it doesn't seem like a good idea to get the medication from a country like Bangladesh because the drugs are cheaper there. If the quality of the drugs are affected by heat, (which is generally the case), then these drugs could do more harm than good.
I have accompanied someone on a Hep C treatment who was in a western country with all the back-up necessary, and it was really really horrible. I also know (personally) people who have tried and failed with Hep C treatment. I know that the new drugs are supposed to be more efficient, but why the hurry ? This is not something to take on lightly and without medical supervision.
All the best to your friend.

1st thanks

2nd; he is not self medicating.
he has a very good dr,( who advised him about this new drug- just released in March) and until this new drug came out was heading to Hat Yai medical hospital ( one of the best in the country) to undergo the series of shot treatments, This new drug is much better and has a success rate much higher than the shots ( upwards of 95% in the states) .
He has been living and working in Thailand for over 25 years and has zero wish to return to the states for treatment and he is getting worse daily ( according to him) and no reason to, if he can get the drugs in Bangladesh. The dr he has is as good as any dr he would see in the states

Its not that the drugs are cheaper in Bangladesh, but the company is incensed to produce the drug there, ( if u read the links u would see)
A $10 generic version of Sovaldi (sofosbuvir), Gilead Sciences’ breakthrough hepatitis C virus (HCV) treatment, is now available in Bangladesh and could make its way to other nations where the U.S. pharmaceutical company does not hold patents, Bloomberg reports.

Incepta Pharmaceuticals, the drug’s manufacturer, is calling its generic version Hopetavir. The company is specifically eyeing low- and middle-income countries in Africa and Southeast Asia for distribution.

The Bangladeshi company does not have a license from Gilead to produce generic Sovaldi. However, it can produce the drug legally, thanks to a World Trade Organization agreement that says the world’s least developed countries do not have to protect pharmaceutical patents.

Overall, Hopetavir will cost about $900 for a full, 12-week course of treatment, which matches the discount price that Gilead is offering for its branded version of the drug in India. The U.S. price tag for a full course of Sovaldi is $84,000.

Had a look in 4 pharmacies, Pharmacy de la Gare were the most helpful, they had Ribavirin (Copegus/Roche) at 18 USD for 42 tablets. They didn't have Hopetavir/Sofosbuvir but they said they could order it from Pakistan which takes 1 to 3 weeks...
