I NEED HELP FOR FATHER IN BATTAMBANG

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

That's because it's Type 2 Diabetes that is most prevalent in Cambodia, this requires changes in eating habits. White steamed rice is not advised but try telling any local they can't eat their staple diet. Type 1 is the one that requires insulin injections.

Hi, That's good news. It's always a worry to have family sick in Cambodia, but I guess the covid situation makes it even worse.
Best of luck to you all.

Check a Google search "Do people with type 2 diabetes require insulin injections?"

It may be that there is some variation in the way doctors are taught, about the recommended treatment for a person with Type 2 diabetes. Cambodian doctors may be influenced by French tradition?

Totally agree about white rice, but now there's also the problem with these "energy" drinks like red bull.

I don't know, I know quite a few Cambodian diabetics though and they don't take insulin.

Yes, but Cambodia is not exactly the gold standard in terms of health care practices! :stir:
