Mysterious Snoozer on Mao Zedong Bvd

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I don't know how it is in Cambodia but I'd be interested to know..... I've lived in places where, if someone is unconscious in the street, there's a better than average chance nobody will do anything about it. It's not that they're deliberately uncaring or callous, it's a self preservation thing, nobody wants to get involved and draw attention to themselves. Is it a thing in Cambodia too?

Mr X finds a guy on the street so moves him so he he doesn't get run over ...Police show up.. ask who moved him.. everyone points to X... X is now involved and on the police radar... police suspect X is responsible somehow for the person being unconscious because 'why else' would they get involved if he didn't cause it... unconscious guy wakes up and realises he might be able to scam some compensation money from X ... X now wishes he carried on walking and let the guy get run over...
Absolutely right, and if it's a Barang/Farang they couldn't care less. Even my (9 year) neighbours left me lying in the street in front of my house when I had a stroke, happened in LOS, 2 months ago AND they have 2 cars! I told them to bring me to hospital but they called my landlord instead who arrivend after 40 minutes. Luckily I am still ok.
Think this has nothing to do with C-19. This is " Culture". But we know! ..... and spend our lifes here........ This encounter fuxed me up BIG TIME!
All this from 'devoutly' Buddhist countries.

I'm sure the Buddha is looking on, gleaming with contentment.

Anyway, most civilized countries have 'good samaritan' laws that protect those who help those in need.

You are right, BRODY! Every morning, 6:30, I can hear them praying to the "Lord" for 15 minutes. After that "incident' their hypocrite chantings me puke now, and I'll move out.

Buddhists don't really pray to any lord.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
