Moving to Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Not sure, to be honest. I remembered the screwdriver incident, which is kind of relevant and then was just poking around the news site. Point well taken: stupid post. But my gut feeling is that this may not be a good move for her with her partner, but what the Fuck do I know.

And for God's sake, don't move to the U.S.

My American friend has been living in SR for about 8 years and he isn't even over the age of 40, yet. But, he has a sizeable enough passive income from rental homes back in the US. He likes the chilled back lifestyle the most. It's always fun up there with friends. A great mix of bars, pubs, restaurants and nightlife with enough other things to do. Great dirt biking up there. Battambong isn't too far. Flights are now cheap to Phnom Penh. Bangkok is right next door. I agree about joint the Facebook Siem Reap Expats group. Everyone living there seemed to check in on it, especially business owners.

It's a chill little town that seems to be changing with a huge recent increase in tourism to Angkor Wat.

I love SR and if my wife and I could make as much money there as in Phnom Penh, we'd try it out for a while, to be honest.
I'll give ya 500 Riel for it...

I'm actually from the US. I currently live in one of the most expensive cities in the nation. It's ridiculous! I'm not looking for an easy, cheap way out by any means. I was offered an opportunity and i'm willing to take it after I've done my research and have visited prior. I've relocated for my company before and it was a learning experience, so this time around I'm trying to be smarter about everything. Hence, the reason why I reached out on this thread. Thanks for your input!
