Mood on the Streets of PP

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

So having been around here in the nineties gives the old farts the exclusive right to still judge the place it is now, even when they have been far away for I don't know how long? And on top of that call everyone after them 'whiny bitches'.
I see. Or how else should I interpret your contribution in this thread?

And, FYI, I may not have been here in the 'fabulous roaring nineties', but - despite my 300 posts only - I have been here for close to 20 years.

Thank you.

The national emergency bill that has past clearly directly contradicts many articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Even if such document isn't needed to clearly see how it affects personal freedoms)

I do live in Cambodia, but up until now the government did not have enough control to enact and efficiently control a monitor their country, which is gonna change with national emergency if the police and army are really preparing to take upon the street for a lockdown.

Of course we've the right to judge the place, everybody has who might have spent time there. I may have left in the early 2000's but I've been back several times, and in my opinion the place has to a certain degree become homogenised, uniformed, not unlike many other Asian cities with its local or Cambodian uniqueness considerably diluted .

And you might interpret my contribution to this thread, or at least in reply to one of your posts, as feeling somewhat insulted that you're not happy with the number of posters who may not currently reside in country, as I've just as much right to be active on Cambodia Expats Online as you or anyone else. Perhaps you could embark on a door knock during these times and rattle up a few new members to remedy your dissatisfaction.

The national emergency bill that has past...
Assuming you meant "passed", it hasn't been signed into law yet. So we don't need any more of your painfully long paranoic essays.

Please start READING, I wrote "the exclusive right", which is a bit different.

To be honest, I've always liked your posts on this forum and in other threads, but this one triggered me in that I thought: "Wait a minute, this old fart thinks he's above the rest?"

You're sure it has nothing to do with your quarantine in Australia (which I think at this time is in the middle of the night)?

@John Bingham
Thank you for rectifying me, and I have no idea if HS will throw the military in the street or not, hopefully he will not and fearing it is nothing more than paranoia.
Not knowing a lot on khmer politics, it reassures me to see many members believe such a thing won't happen.

How about you stop polluting the forum with your uninformed nonsense?

This forum no longer has anything to do with expats in cambodia..
You all have left...
You have gone back to the places you fled and just hate on people who are still here....

That’s clearly wrong. I can only guess that your intent is to stir it up a little?
