Meet the middle-aged female sex tourists

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. I need to correct myself. I previously referred to the movie "Paradise Love" as a comedy ---- but I just watched it, and it is anything but.

It features an older, obese German (Austrian) woman who goes on holiday in Kenya and falls in love/lust with a young African man only to get used and abused in the same way that older obese white males come over to Asia and get used and abused.

The interesting aspect of the story is that it starts off highlighting the "victimzation" of the kind-hearted obese German female as she is exploited for her wealth but gradually shifts tone towards highlighting how the wealthy exploit the poor for their own desires and fantasies. Their is a scene where a young African man is brought in as a "birthday gift" to the obese German and is asked to entertain and service the 4 or 5 obese Germans in the group. It is outright uncomfortable.

I am not sure I can recommend the movie ---- watching 120kg German women cavorting with young African Males (full frontal nudity no less) will not be everybody's cup of tea. Still the movie is provocative -- taking all the sex tourist
stereotypes and reversing the gender aspects is quite interesting, and any film that makes you feel uncomfortable is probably still better than one that numbs you with mindless stupidity.

It's been a fair while since I read it last, but didn't "Emergency Sex and other desperate measures" touch on this topic too?
BTW, for those that haven't read it, it is one of the best books I have ever read. It is a terrible indictment on the UN, written by ex UN staff and covers Cambodia, Rawnada, Haitai and Bosnia in detail. It really is a MUST read for us Cambodian expats in particular. Written by Andrew Thomson, Heidi Postlewait and Kenneth Cain. It tells the REAL story, from insiders, of the atrocities committed in these 4 countries and how the UN allowed them to happen.

I had the pleasure with my wife to listen to a very obnoxious white woman trash all the male sexpsts in the Dominican Republic while we were sitting around the pool. Itvwad really quite annoying.

Lo and behold the next day she has a strapping young Dominican guy half her age and made a really obscene display of sexual aggression totally embarrassing the people who were present. Needless to say that she paid for the drinks food snd who knows what else. HYPOCRITICAL bitch.

Agreed. There is even a sort of feminist anti porn lobby to stop teenage boys accessing porn.
There was a good gay tolerance advert on the side of buses " some people are gay, get over it". They should also have " men watch porn and masterbate, get over it" .

I'm all for the freedom of watching and/or making one's own porn (except in Cambodia where it's outlawed in very vague terms).
But I also think that one's sexuality or even asexuality is a rather very determining part of one's identity. The lack of emotional and intellectual maturity when exposed to porn can be damaging to a person's mentality, relation to sex and own perception and acceptance of his/her body and sexuality.

Adults are free to do and watch whatever they want. Children and teenage boys and girls should first develop a healthy understanding of and relation with the other sexes before they are thrown into the depths of human sexual "perversion" once they're ready.

I don't think any lack of emotional or intellectual maturity comes into it. It's a very basic need, that surely nature has programmed to surface when ready for it, and not before? Nature hasn't really made many "mistakes".
Can we not trust them to seek out the level of pornography they are comfortable with?

I disagree. No problem for porn with adults, although even there I question how harmful some of the more violent or dominant stuff is. There are lots of issues with younger people (even sophisticated young people as found in developed western countries). Many studies confirm this. A lot also depends on what type of porn. Softcore/romantic porn might be ok, but considering the number of sexual assaults into Cambodia, adding a strong dose of bondage or some of the nastier stuff out there into the readily available media mix could have catastrophic effects. There is a lot of nasty stuff out there --- I don't think you can count on people who have limited exposure in the first place to be able to "filter" what level is "best" for them. Even in the USA --- the envelope was pushed over a period of decades as social norms of acceptability changed.
