Surely the simple option is local cremation, followed by sending the ashes* home.
* 'Ashes' is a figure of speech; what one gets from the crematorium is pinkish-grey crushed bone. One can then keep this in an urn or scatter it into the Irish Sea.

If you die from a drug overdose I'm sure the treble insurance won't cover that.

For sure. But cremation is definitely the way to go. Financially, and also from every point of view realistically.BFG wrote:If you die from a drug overdose I'm sure the treble insurance won't cover that.
There have been a few threads recently on costs of sending remains back to the UK (unfortunately), and I'm fairly sure that £1000 or less should cover cremation costs and sending ashes to the UK.
AFAIK ashes can be sent by post/ courier service. You just have to organize that with the funeral parlour.

Yes for sure I just don't understand why foreigners would take drugs in a third world country any drug has its risks of course but buying it in Cambodia your asking for trouble.
I hope the two victims didn't leave there wife or children behind.

doubtful, people die like this all over the world.
Kampot has no unique claim to danger.
taking street drugs is an inherently dangerous activity

Why would anybody not visit somewhere, just because somebody has died there through taking drugs ?
Most people have more intelligence & do not take drugs, so the deaths are of absolutely no relevance to most people when planning their trips

You might be surprised how many young people go on tours of the region and spend plenty of time partying, drinking and taking drugs. Nobody blamed the place or said not to visit there, but if there is any lesson to be learned from this it might be to be careful and avoid taking pills of unproven providence. None of this matters to me, but it's probably better that these tragic deaths are publicized so others maybe understand that some of the shit being sold is perhaps a bit strong or toxic for their liking? I'm tired of reading about tourist kids dropping dead, it's a fucking mess.jaynewcastle wrote:Why would anybody not visit somewhere, just because somebody has died there through taking drugs ?

Silence, exile, and cunning.
