There is possibly a very bad batch of chemical drugs in town at the moment. please be aware of this and share this information with anyone you feel it could help.

Re: Matthew David Jones - James Edward die from drugs in Kampot
now on fb page;
Maybe stepahn hale in PP got a hold of some??
Without going into a discussion that may prove controversial, but being aware that there is a strong possibility that there is a batch of something dangerous like PMA or a contaminated batch of another substance, could I please ask that hostel/bar/gh owners copy and paste then print out these simple harm reduction tips which could save a life or serious illness.
1.The Buddy System
Always travel with a friend. Always share with your friend any potential substances you have taken and how much. Communicate if you are not feeling well or if you need a break.
2. Chill Out and Take a Break
Dancing and exhausting your body for several hours can result in dehydration or heat exhaustion, with or without the use of substances. Be sure to take a break and cool-down regularly.
3. Hydrate and Replenish Electrolytes
Dehydration and heatstroke are real issues. Most medical emergencies are a direct result of heatstroke and/or dehydration. Drink a bottle of water per hour and supplement with sports drinks such as Gatorade.
4. Know Your Dosage and Source
If you do choose to use a substance, know how much you are consuming and manage potential re-dosing. Remember – “Less is more!” Also, getting substances from strangers can be risky business! Make sure to know your source and drug contents.
5. Be Cautious When Mixing Substances
Again, if you do choose to use a substance and choose to use multiple substances, be very careful with drug cocktails. When using several substances, the effects may multiply. Furthermore, when mixing substances, especially those with different effects on the central nervous system (i.e. depressant vs. stimulant), you increase your risk of unwanted health consequences or death. Subsequently, be cautious when mixing 2 or more depressants, as your heart and breathing may slow, and when mixing 2 or more stimulants, as your heart and breathing may rapidly increase.

One can only express awe and reverence ("Respect!") for the ability of the DAILY MAIL's stringers to patch together a plausible
news item out of lifted / plagiarised material lifted from websites.

Re: Matthew David Jones - James Edward die from drugs in Kampot
The guy that died at the hospital was called James Edward Taff aged 33. That was his photo in the rasmeinews link. RIP.
I presume that some Kampot expats know where this drug came from. Is it still in circulation ? Are these guys the only victims ? At least if anyone knows what it was, eg; PMA, they should spread the word, and not keep quiet. Taking party drugs is not a shameful secret. This will be painful for family and friends but people need to be informed, particularly if there is something nasty (lethal) about.

The deaths of two men in Kampot were reported in the London Standard as "mysterious deaths". Nothing new was reported, except to confirm that Jones collapsed in Nola bar where he was a customer, and CPR was performed in an attempt to revive him.
The sources of the Standard seem to be forums and social media. Surprisingly, possible cause of one of the deaths is given as heart attack.

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/tw ... 91081.htmlTwo British men have died in mysterious circumstances after a night out at a bar in Cambodia.
Police believe one of them died from a sudden heart attack, while the cause of death for the second victim was being investigated.

"I don't normally post things like this but this is important. I have just found out a friend passed away suddenly last week while over in working / travelling in Cambodia. Matt was a great man, he helped track down a missing Irish man over in Asia after he went missing a couple of years ago. He served in the Royal Marines for a number of years and its only right he should flown home to be laid to rest.... RIP Matt"
And a GoFundMe:

I wonder who the missing Irish bloke he helped track down was?
