Grandma Ens: Orphans, AIDS and Jesus in Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

JB is a lot more respected here, online and out in the real world, than you will ever be.

Since joining you have started a fight with almost everyone on this forum who differs from a your views.

Take your own advice and learn when to shut the fuck up and let things go.

You do not have to respond to everything on this forum. You are becoming the Vlad of CEO and it’s getting boring.

And yes if you ever come to PP tell me and I will be happy to say this to your face (before you even try and use this as an argument).

Sometimes they deserve, sometimes not, but where is all the Muslim Aid for Syrian refugees? how many refuges have muslim countries taken from Myanmar? you don't see massive airflifts from other religions or governments when the shit hits and they never get criticised?
Agree, but which 'Christian' country, aided by the regional Jewish state, started the crap in Syria? It wasn't an Islamic state.

Hint: one of the usual suspects

Its been tried before! :D
Soviet Marxist-Leninism policy consistently advocated the control, suppression, and ultimately, the elimination of religious beliefs, and actively encouraged atheism in the Soviet Union.[2] However, most religions were never officially outlawed.[1]

The state advocated the destruction of religion, and it officially pronounced religious beliefs to be superstitious and backward.[3][4] The Communist Party destroyed churches, mosques and Buddhist temples, ridiculed, harassed, incarcerated and executed religious leaders, flooded the schools and media with anti-religious teachings, and it introduced a belief system called "scientific atheism," with its own rituals, promises and proselytizers.[5][6] The total number of Christian victims under the Soviet regime has been estimated to range between 12-20 million.[7][8][9]

Religious beliefs and practices persisted among the majority of the population,[5] in the domestic and private spheres but also in the scattered public spaces allowed by a state that recognized its failure to eradicate religion and the political dangers of an unrelenting culture war.[3][10]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecuti ... viet_Union

Its very human to believe in unreal things. Relgion, money, human rights, etc..
This is perhaps one of the more important reasons we are able to work together in large groups (common belief).
As such, us monkeys control (and fuck up) the planet
Clever innit?

I try to imagine a free for all among the three main antagonists on this thread. IMHO the action wouldn't be worth sweating. Two would die of old age and the third would inherent it by default.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Are the Wahabis still influencing things in the Kingdom or have they been warned off by the HS/Chinese regime in place now.

Take your pick. Plenty of people share responsibility for creating the mess. if you go back far enough it would be the British carving up of the middle east at the end of the war, or Christian countries establishing Israel, or perhaps even Germany for creating the circumstances which led to the formation of Israel. I am sure the historians i here could probably point at events further back than that. Russia is orthodox Christian, America is also Christian, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon are (mainly) not Christian. All have been involved one way or another. Nothing is every black and white when assigning blame for conflict. But once the shit has hit the fan the question is whether everyone should do their bit to help or just turn their backs on it

The British didn't carve up the middle East, the French and British carved up the middle East. The French created the shit-show that is now Syria. Admittedly it's now a shit-show because the Yanks got upset with them trading with the Soviets, so decided to stick a fascist in government instead of some fucking lefty. Too bad it turned out he was a fan of the soviets, too. So no, actually we had very little influence in the middle east, due to being broke saving everyone's asses from the Germans twice.
