Man Pulls Out Gun and Goes Hunting in a Village at Midday

This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything Cambodia-related. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.

Hey Mish. ^^ You know i hate disagreeing with you. Why do you make me do it so often? :

"peacefully hunting bird" - No, he quite obviously disturbed public order and caused concern.
"designed to do that job" - No, specifically outlawed from doing that job for very good reasons.

- quite seriously, there would be very few birds or wild animals left in the country if there was open ownership of hunting rifles.
Because you hand over your personal rights so easily to other people who dun give a shit about you.

The people in Government are full blown psychopaths who order war and destruction on an unimaginably vast scale.

What government are you talking about? Damascus? Washington? I'm guessing you weren't here in the 90s before the small arms reduction programs, because banditry and gun/ grenade attacks were rife then. That's why only senior police/ army are allowed to carry weapons outside of work, some were using them to terrorise, extort and rob the population at night.
As usual - do I take it you were unarmed and extorted
I take it you are armed like this guy when you go outside to dangerous places like streets and restaurants?

Looking so tough with that big gun.

I don't see any connection at all. A random picture. I go out with the reasonable expectation that if any bad guy shoots they will meet lead going their way.

I HAVE have been kidnapped, extorted, guns against my head and worse so now I realise the world is not Plato's utopia.

Have you?

Maybe Stockholm syndrome is your way out of it. Or perhaps no bad guys have weapons. Perhaps you are the bad guy and can't be trusted. Crikey bloke, don't you realize sometimes the GOOD guys have weapons. It's not a one way street. If you personally dun wish to be armed is ok by me JB. :beer3:

I won't take it personally Mish - but if you knew me you would realise that is a slur on the way i have chosen to live my whole life.
If you want to know what i really think - and every other true bushie i know - people who think they need guns for protection and to "hold their person rights" are fucking pathetic.
And i can assure you brother, that i have lived, worked and visited some pretty "interesting" places and situations all my lifetime.

That's fine bro - You can have zero and I'll keep mine. No harm done so far!!

My forks are kept safely locked in a box at home - just in case I get the urge to be a bad guy.
