Make your voice heard to admin

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Admin : please please please just give her one thread so we can all know to avoid it.

I found a solution, I simply never joined the darknet and can't see any of those photos.

What reason to join the darknet phuketrich? You want to see some gore but not too gory?

"Hey, can I get in the gore section? WTF, there is gore in here!! Admins, hear my roar!"

That's a fair suggestion Roz.

Can you tell me what reason there is to join the darknet forum? I assumed to see the unedited photos of accidents, but is there some other reason? Dirty jokes? More cursing?

I didn't join as I have no interest in seeing the bloody photos. It won't gross me out but it just doesn't add any value for me. I am just wondering if there is more to that part of the forum that makes it interesting.

it is not meant to be a "gore section" - darknet is also a place to discuss sensitive topics like local politics.
the poster in question is banned now in any case.

I thought there was an overabundance of dead people knocking about lately... one image gave me a flashback to se7en and I reminded myself why I shouldn't click them links.

There's the bimonthly pic4pic cam4cam shows that a few hotties (myself included) like to have a laugh in

Darknet Cambodia News
This is a place for uncensored and sometimes brutal Cambodia news stories that might offend the public and won't appear in the Cambodia Daily, Phnom Penh Post or Khmer Times. Graphic content in the news is sometimes disturbing and is often censored in mainstream media outlets, but some viewers are mature enough to see what's really happening in the region with as many details included as possible, so if you are a CEO member with 20+ posts and interested in uncensored news stories, contact one of us on the Mod Team and we will grant you access.
You're warned as to the content in Darknet and you don't have to look at it. Sorry, I don't see the problem.
I generally agree with you 100% on this, HOWEVER..... She was posting non-stop, bumping up old topics from past years, adding graphic pics, so if you were in the Darknet you hardly had a choice, and had to jump and dive around to actually find a topic that WASN'T a pic of a dead body. I'm not even exaggerating, lol. Our software is set up to show 25 of the latest topics per page, and we woke up to 40+ topics that had been bumped. Do the math.

That said, she's been booted, as I think we can all see that she doesn't really 'get' how it works on here at all. Thanks all!!

Good call. Also, I really liked what Fax had to say about this on another thread. I would have :thumb: it twice if possible.

Now I am wondering about this ghoul stuff being posted on the internet. Of course the photos must come from police or people connected with them. We knew that photos are sold locally to Khmer news outlets, (and so we call the Khmer ghoulish, hmm ok), and maybe I was naive, but it now seems obvious that selling extreme gore photos of dead people is a thriving international online business, and that people like Simone are attracted to Cambodian internet sites because there are loads of these photos available.

Well done Cambodia. Internationally famous for all the wrong reasons again. :(

Freedom of speech is between individual and State. It means Simone can publish books or write news opinions or participate in debate expressing that she loves watching dead people without being silenced by the government.

It doesn't mean that Simone has a human right to post gore pictures on privately hosted websites or that we have to put up with it.

This isn't 4chan ffs.

The culture and dignity (I know that be a stretch for CEO) of any website is reflected by what it allows to be posted and maintained. Not whether someone has the choice to open and look at those posts/photos. If you did not have a darknet would you allow those photos to be posted? Of course not. I agree with the previous poster that we did not consider the original intent of darknet to be the offensive gore site for CEO. Besides, those people have family and friends.

CEO is what it allows to be posted. Dignity?

You make a good point. It is a learning process, I imagine.
Cut them some slack.
