I got mine (4 of them) from Aliexpress, but I have seen them at the electrical stores on Monivong near Orussey.Dangerous Dave wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:23 pm Btw, where can I buy smoke detectors? Tried Aeon Mall, Sorya, Thai Huot and IBC so far. No dice.

This is sound advice, and something I was always taught.
Though not wrapping around your head but pressing it against your nose and mouth.
If you step out into a hallway full of choking smoke and fumes, you can be overcome and go unconscious before you even realizes that it's happening.

Re: My Lucky Escape From a Fire
In many cases of death by fire the person has been made unconsious first by the toxic fumes of plastics and paint and they don't have to be burning, just the high temperature will release those. Worry about the toxic fumes first before you worry about the fire.

Almost O/T but, is the Riverside area exempt from these rolling blackouts we've been having due to the low water levels? I stayed in a hotel between norodom and Street 19 on 184 and I don't remember the power ever being off once in four days.

If you type in smoke detectors Phnom Penh there's a whole list of places. https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... phnom+penhDangerous Dave wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:23 pm Btw, where can I buy smoke detectors? Tried Aeon Mall, Sorya, Thai Huot and IBC so far. No dice.

Re: My Lucky Escape From a Fire
I'm near the Old Market and I've had alternating morning/afternoon 4hr cuts (not yesterday or today though), so no, there's no Riverside exemption. I think the block opposite me gets a better deal as they're on the same switch/circuit as the actual market and hasn't had nearly as many cuts.Dangerous Dave wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:26 am Almost O/T but, is the Riverside area exempt from these rolling blackouts we've been having due to the low water levels?
