The girl on the far right is the Rubik Cube Queen.
The one on the far left is the one that tried to pierce my eardrum.

I met expats who will judge you if you drink certain beer, wash your cloths a certain way, eat certain food and small thing like bragging about things like they have never taken a massage or paid for sex in asia.timmydownawell wrote:Well, aren't you superior?Barang_doa_slae wrote:Having one's hears done in a local barber shop separate the integrated expats from the pussies wannabies. Ha! I was right going against type and I knew you'd put her out in front, too. Anyway, nice selection at the shop. Thanks for the tip.

Haha
Now concerning the ears picking I was dead serious.
It takes years and lot of fear sometimes suffering to get to appreciate it, so IMHO it can be used as an integration level criteria. Not that becoming khmer is to be regarded as a life time achievement though

I don't think I'd do it again. It was scary as hell, and seems risky, no matter how cute she was.
I cringe thinking about it. Probably scarred for life now.
In Malaysia I got my "ears cleaned" by someone putting a hollow candle in my ear and proceeding to light it on fire.
Some mumbo jumbo if you ask me. Doesn't seem like it would actually do anything.
Somehow having a lit candle in my ear wasn't half as terrifying as having someone go prodding in my ear with long metal tools, tweezers.
The whole thing should have been done in hospital, knocked out with anesthesia and a layer a morphine drip.

At a Khmer wedding right now. Kinda wished I had gotten them to put more wax IN.
