Living in South East Asia on $400 USD a month?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Its do able even in thailand, its just under 500 baht a day.

So 30000 baht for two months would be possible but you would would have to pre pay the room on agoda and take that out your budget.

This kinda budget prevents blowouts and excesse alcoholism and promotes a better mind state.

I love Jamie's set up. 6 months laying brick in the UK then 6 months laying pipe in SEA.

Well, if his stamina is anything to go by, (I lost a c-note betting on this guy's last Cambodian KB match) I'd say his dick will let him down first.

Never forget...Khmer women are insatiable, relentless, sex machines...at least in my experience.

If you're single then you can just about live on that but it's not gonna be anything else but surviving meaning no travels and sightseeing, and in a 3rd world place like Cambodia you need some luxuries to offset the grimness of the place. People often forget about how run down the place is. You know a few nice meals and drinks helps offset that. The Cambodian street food isn't good either. The list goes on.

A more realistic daily budget for a single travelling person is more like 25 to 30 English pounds a day and im talking minimum bare basics. Anything less is tramp money.

I wanna be a tramp, an alcoholic washed up tramp in SEA.

I hate the west, its going down hill, the ship is sinking, AUD crumbling, prices rising, wages lowering.....
