Living in Cambodia – The Good, The Bad and The Really F*cking Ugly

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I wonder if this Jezebel is as rabid as it appears, or if she just enjoys the attention whoring. But then again, who cares?

I was in Snooky in 1996 and cannot recall a single instance of elderly men (western or otherwise) walking the beach with young girls, or boys for that matter. There was almost nobody there. I now wish I could revisit that un-fucked up place once again.

I posted a link to this thread on her reply page, telling her that her article was being discussed here and she should take a look.

Maybe we can reel her in...

Careful. We might have another 'stylish' topic in the making.. Does she have an interest in re-homing street kids? :chin:

She'll be completely and utterly terrified as most wannabe influencers are when confronted with reality.

If you, KFH, posted this merely "to see it get ripped to pieces", you're a dangerous and irresponsible individual. It is hard enough trying to gain some sort of respect from the locals and the local authorities, without you putting these generalised falsehoods in the heads of those of the abovementioned that view this forum, and might decide to mention, around the water cooler, that "even their own say..."
Your argument seems flawed.

If lthe local authority figures do read this thread the last thing they will come away with is "even their own say..."
You posted the above on page 3 and maybe you missed the 2 pages of comments disproving her claims.
Any local with the ability to read this forum is probably able to comprehend what is posted here and the various replies posted will leave them in no doubt that the article is utter garbage.
Fair enough, I'll cop that, too lazy to look and I'm sure it doesn't need to be checked. I know we're on the same team, wanting to clean up the image, stereotype, and maybe get a few less of those glares when you go into a shop. Fucking eggshells

There's been a little activity on Jezebel's blog since posting.

Soberman says
You stupid fucking idiot. What a pile of hysterical shite. Pathetic. Fortunately, Cambodia is now rid of backpacking twats like you.
Jezebel reply
You sound like you need a Valium. Thank god you can get a strip over the counter for a dollar hey!
Jezebel after visiting this thread.
Those comments are hilarious and worrying in equal parts. What a lot of fragile men!
Ein replied
Hahah – the people on that forum see that shite on a regular basis from wannabees like you. When I looked I dont see much sympathy for your generalisations
Ein again
What a load of BS – having lived in Cambodia for 8 years I have never been sick, eaten by mosquitos daily and all the other crap you write. You are just another backpacker hanging out with the same coterie on KR island listening to the same bollocks stereotypes you lot trade in. Absolute tripe snowflake.
