Lilly's Family is Looking for Her: Last Seen in Kampot with No Money, No Job, No Visa

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I do not understand expatriates that do not actually visit the sights of the country they live in.

Plenty of Khmer haven't been to Ankor.

Many Parisians haven't been to the Eiffel Tower, doesn't make it any better. And I think most Khmer that live near Angkor Wat have been there numerous times; popular destination for picnics and the like.

I'm from the states, never been to; statue of liberty, grand canyon, mount rushmore, gettysburg, Disney Land. But granted the states is much bigger than Cambodia but I had 30 years there to see things and only been in Cambodia 8, that's not counting me leaving for work, could almost half that due to leaving to other countries.

My wife's first time to Angkor Wat was with me, she's 32. She never went, and doesn't want to go, to the killing fields or the prison.

I lived in Orlando and it's like me saying how can anyone move to Florida(Pretty close area comparison to Cambodia, but then given the time it takes to travel in Cambodia you might have to add Georgia in there to get a better comparison. In the time it takes to go from PP to SR I can drive from Orlando to Atlanta, probably faster) and never have been to Disney World? And yes WDW is a cultural thing if you were brought up in Florida by the 80's.

Hell I can drive from Orlando to NYC in the time it would take you to travel from SHV to Ratanakiri.

To be honest, expats with more time in the country will have much more enjoyment visiting the less famous temples, as opposed to walking in line at Angkor Wat.

Not much of an excuse for expats who arrived before the crowds, one didn’t need no palm reader to predict the upcoming tourists lines.

I disagree, I still like going to Angkor Wat and I have been a regular visitor for almost 20 years.
