Lexus driver kills locals on Riverside

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Lexus driver kills locals on Riverside

Post by StroppyChops »

Unconfirmed (although from a friend who saw it) report of a Lexus driver hitting a bike and then tuktuk tonight on Riverside, killing 3 or 4, and then attempting to drive off, hitting another. Now in police custody... let's see, 3 or 4 locals dead, Lexus driver, penalty should be a solid slap on the wrist, might even leave a lasting mark for an hour or two. Filthy scum.

Yes, I'm bitter about my encounter with a similar Lexus driver recently, and will be for a while.

Yes, just saw your post JP, well written. Possibly needs a thread of it's own, as the driver will get at least a stern talking to.

No, it doesn't. I was involved in an accident with one of these pus bags running the lights at speed on the wrong side of the road about a month ago - no plates, and the cop on the corner did the Sergeant Shultze thing (I know nothing) despite standing watching the whole event. You have to wonder if people need to start shooting these Lexus drivers before the law will take an interest.

Until government plated cars and policemen start obeying the traffic laws I see absolutely no hope for change here.

Every day you see some knob putting lives at risk because they think the laws don't apply to them, and all too frequently, policemen watching but doing absolutely nothing. I simply cannot believe how many moto accidents I've seen since I've been here, and I'd suggest all of them involve stupidity.

I suppose one day when overseas aid finally runs out they'll realise what a cash cow traffic fines are.

I am about at my breaking point with Phnom Penh traffic. Pchum Ben holiday couldn't come soon enough.

I am honestly ready to snap on one of these cocksuckers... which would be very stupid of me to do. I had to do a full rear brake lock up in the rain the other day because some fuck-twat in his Toyota SUV wanted to make his left turn.

I honestly think the fucking people driving on the wrong side of the road is the #1 issue for driver retardation here in Cambodia. When I go to make a right hand turn, you shouldn't be coming at me in my lane. Next week I am thinking of taking my $400 POS moto out and just playing a light, under 15km/h game of "Whose Plastic Will Break?" with the first freshy fuck riding a Dream I see.

The problem is most of those Lexus drivers are connected. The low level street cop isn't going to risk his job. Third world politics.
