Lazy Passapp Drivers.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Waiting in the street for tuktuks to stop talking and bags to lift themselves into the trunk... You sound angry.

Take a chill pill. Cambodia isn't a tipping culture like you think. The drivers don't normally expect anything more than generously rounding up rather than counting the 200 in the mininart.

Just order car with Grab and cancel if needed

... says the guy worried about overpaying 100 riel too much for a bottle of water.
Stop treating people like crap. Mocking impoverished tuk tuk drivers about their struggling business, refusing to lift your bag and standing there until the brown man does it, it's ugly, man.
Well, I must say I am a little surprised with the reaction to an expectation of service. Is that unusual? Also turning it into a racial thing is unwarranted. That's not what its about so don't go there.
It's Cambodia. Don't expect water bottles and candies in your Uber. Good customer service is when the driver doesn't temper with the meter and/or says hello/ soosday. It doesn't mean that you should lower your standards. It just means that you might have to pay more to get the level of service you want.
Expecting good customer service from PassApp is like looking for a reliable and trustworthy life partner at Angry Birds...

Why are you so angry? Nobody kicked out Uber, Grab bought them for a lot of money https://www.bbc.com/news/business-43536322
Angry? Not at all. I just know their protocols and came to appreciate and expect that. If Passapp Car drivers don't do it, and they are all the same, then I will have to re-evaluate my expectations. Also, I would then just order a tuktuk, I like the open air, and they are as helpful as shit.
You certainly seem angry. And what does helpful as shit mean? That their service is shit? Please clarify.

And becoming more so and more so. Itt seems like there are several posters who want to be head honcho at the top of the stairs.

Even if he was, I don't retract my statement.

I don't think that you should tell tuktuk drivers that they're going out of business. It's not a very nice thing to say. You can't blame them for trying to earn money through honest work.

If instead he put the luggage in the trunk we would read about the crazy driver who manhandled your precious Gucci and you probably had your best Chinese teapot in there... Relax
There was a big promo for grab in Aeon. then 2 night ago i got to see their quality driving. 2 going the wrong way down 51 completely blocking the road and some appalling driving elsewhere. I though passap were bad enough but from what i seen so far Grab must be employing drivers sacked by passap for bad driving!

While not endorsing the comments of the OP, I still wish the PassApp app had a rating system to review each driver, such that if a driver received sufficient negative reviews they lose their PassApp credentials. Also, I wish you could block specific PassApp drivers from accepting your requests - so, the ones with apps or phones that mysteriously stop working, take you via the scenic routes, start the timer before they actually arrive, show you a screenshot of a much higher fare ... those ones. Apparently they get to rate the paying customer, so why not allow the customer to rate the driver?
