Ok. I never had an intention of selling this land in koh Kong, thought my kids would inherit it. However they are English and like me have no interest in Cambodia so it was a quick reply to see if FLB wanted it. To my surprise I have had 5 expressions of interest to buy it. This is what I know at the moment.

1. An official from the ministry has gone in the last 2 days,at my expense, and measured the land. It is 38 meters bordering the river and 140 meters back making a plot about one and a quarter acres or 0.53 hectares. It is soft title and you will need a Cambodian or a company in your ownership to buy.
2 . It is a few hundred meters from the main road and ferry to Chi Phat.
3. The plot is vacant and I have detailed plans for a holiday villa designed by my friend. The plots either side have houses on with electricity and wells. A German owns most of the land between the ferry and this plot and eco tourism is planned.
4. My wife has received an offer of 6,000 dollars by a Cambodian local which she has rejected. I purchased the land in 2009 for a holiday place .

My wife is going to Cambodia next month to see her family, so any more enquiries please pm me and I will pass it on to her and e-mail will be provided.

Thanks

Well there are rentals, but that could get expensive.

Koh Kong might be quite good for bees as 8 or 9 years ago they were planting Acacia plantations along the old road to Pursat that ran through the Cardamon Mts. I haven't been up through that way for 7 years or 8 yrs so things may have changed. I think it was only about a half hour or so past the airport. You should take a trip to Koh Kong and check that out. Acacia nectar is used for honey production in NZ but I have no idea if is a good strain for honey production or not.

Would the land measurement's not be on the original title of ownership? When my lady bought land the officials came to assess the measurement for the papers, it did cost the owner, not us.
So the land has rapidly decreased to 5,320 square metres, less the 20 metre from the riverbank, a legal total of 4,560 square metres.

My wife has now accepted an offer on the land, a Cambodian! She said it was too much hassle to deal with foreigners!

Just a note. Buying land is perilous for foreigner's in Cambodia. At some stage you will need the goodwill of your wife/girlfriend/shareholder's and Police but it will be a Cambodian who decides your fate.

Anyway those who were interested, thanks.
