Koh Kong

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Mauser can 24 hours off. Totally derailing this thread.

Might have to block your privilege of sending PMs too. Far too many complaints recently.

What are renting motos got to do with it.
And yes I was talking about the legal point of buying riverside land. A house I had built on the Mekong is a third in the river. But according to law it is not legal.

Good idea, but I am wanting to buy in Koh Kong.
You still have not answered my question? You say you have riverside land, how can a foreigner buy land legally in Cambodia?

There's a few ways foreigners can buy land, but they can never actually own it, unless they get Cambodian citizenship.

without being Cambodian ( not even sure if a dual citizen can) they can never OWN it in their names;
sure u can buy it thru ur wife, gf, 90 year LEASE or company but its not yours

Thailand, I owned my house, but the land is in my daughters name

Yeah sure. Obviously my wife owns it!
But I get the cash from the rental not her and anyway it's our money.

"Best sell it bro! Easy but I can't sell it, because I do not own it.
OK no problem, just a slip of the keyboard. We can all own land in are own country's but you and me both know it's different here. I was thinking you had citizenship. But only the proud ego like many of us "just a figure of speech" because we buy it we own it. Not the case in this situation.

Why the big defence. You have a Khmer wife and buy her land and have rental monies, and yes it would be "our" money because you are both equal.
I myself have been, and still are in the same situation like many others on this forum. It's called cohabitating happily together.

OK Richard I like straight talk. That was my point before with questions for accurate information on the subject of Riverside Land.
