Ta khmao

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Ta khmao

Post by Duncan »

Anyone looking for an area to live could not go wrong if you purchased in the Takhmao area. Being only 12 km from PP,, it could be classed as a suburb of PP and has really gone ahead in the last 2 years that I have lived there. New banks, Lucky s/market , Pizza Hut, a new market , about 2/3 stories high is nearly complete, and a new shopping center with offices and accommodation is just starting across the road from the riverside.

I thought it was the wrong web site until I scrolled down to the bottom , [ page 12 ]

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

It will also provide access to ING City... which is being constructed on land reclaimed from the Boeung Tompun wetlands.

Environmental protection at work. Wetlands are for losers.

Yep, that's a different one.

The first one is north, and the second one is south.

Is it just me or does anyone else see a comparison above and around PP in general, over the past decade, and in this link?

from above link:

They are paid to use their names and are never seen again. You can sell the same property over and over again thus you have clean profit but its actually dirty money. Wash, launder, dry. Wash, launder, dry. Again and again and again.
So many empty, new office and apartment buildings all over the place.

I think that may be the one you are referring to. I must get some photos of the lake before it is filled in and skyscrapers are built on it ???

You'd better hurry. Almost gone, at least in the area between HE Drive, 271 and 371. It's filling in from two sides.

I'm glad this isn't a seismic area - all those sandy foundations from filling in lakes with reclaimed silt.
