Kep too busy?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Kep too busy?

Post by dave the wave »

I remember a few years ago Kep was only busy on Saturdays. Now it seems to be every day the beach and roads are packed with locals from PP. Maybe paradise lost?

I don't know what days you are referring to. But it might have been because it was Pchhum Beun. Because of the bad reputation Sihanouk's has now locals are taking their business elsewhere along the coast.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Ya it's been festival but still today very busy and even before it started. Looks like Thursday to Monday is the new weekend. They have a bunch of jet skis and blowup games on the beach now and it is getting worse. I am getting tired of looking at drunks and piles of garbage. You have to avoid the busy days but then what is there to do?
I was thinking of rent a bungalow monthly and staying for a few months but now having second thoughts..

There's nothing to do in Kep any day of the week. We're you planning on hanging out on kep beach 6 days a week?

After.the demise of sihanoukville, Kep is the only other beachside resort town left for Cambodians to visit.

Go rent a house in stung treng if you want to avoid the crowds.
