Kep?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Amazing roads - either, 8-lane, properly engineered freeways that start & stop at what I assume are municipal boundaries, or potholed dirt tracks. The ruins of all the early '60s villas built before the Khmer Rouge regime are interesting for their architecture. Now, all bought 'on spec.' by rich Cambodian families/generals who, I'm pretty sure, will soon sell to the Chinese to develop 38-story condo/casino complexes... there goes the neighbourhood. .
Kep's the only place in Cambo where the whole town is pleasant to look at. Lack of Airport or major freeway connecting to PP or SHV should give us a few more years before developers move in.
NagaWorld's 200km buffer zone until 2035 (Bokor excluded) prevents any Casinos in Kep town for a while...

You, sir, just don't know where to look... granted, they're not 'in your face'.

Its very very quiet down there, had 3 nights there Feb 2016

Unless you really want quiet, a day-trip or an overnight trip will suffice.
