Kenyan Volunteer Asked to Show $1,000 USD at Phnom Penh Airport or She Can't Enter Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

You are obviously lucky enough to have 400" 3-D screen with surround sound at home; I don't.

No.

In my opinion, any barang who staffs their business in Cambodia with foreign volunteers instead of paying locals is as tight as a nun's cunt.
what about the Swedish girl that was doing looking for volunteers, yet some were saying it was a good thing>

I don't think that foreign owned 'businesses' should be allowed to use foreign volunteers in Cambodia. If you can't make a profit by paying Cambodian staff, it's time to close down.

I'd like to get confirmation on whether these volunteers need work permits. On the Hot Swedish Slaveowning Chick thread, Taabarang said they do need work permits. However, on facebook Ramon Stoppelenburg says "you can volunteer on a tourist visa".

So who is right? Taabarang or Ramon Stoppelenburg?

I hope it's Taabarang.

"I hope it's Taabarang."

So do I. Actually it makes no nevermind to me. It does however smell of a "local deal" that a higher- up official relative in the Ministry of Immigration might overlook. But pay me no mind, I'm overly suspicious.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

If Ramon has been 'employing' volunteers illegally on tourist visas, the immigration police should give him the flick.

I loved the comments why they use foreign volunteers,
"cause foreign tourist feel more comfortable speaking with volunteers cause they speak english, rather than locals"
than fucking stay HOME :please:

What if your mate doesn't get through the border because he doesn't have $1000?

Do you often have immigration at your house asking about your guests?
