Will Bob Dylan and Joan Baez sing a song about this lamentable state of affairs?

Where are we to buy the protesting T-shirt?

Will the GSM mongers hold a candlelit vigil?

Or will life go on much as before?

Conviction reported from the UK:
A Cambodian opposition leader has been sentenced to five months in prison as political tensions continue over challenges to the autocratic rule of the prime minister, HE.

Kem Sokha, the vice-president of the Cambodia National Rescue party (CNRP), was sentenced after a trial lasting several hours. His defence lawyer, Sam Sokong, said Kem would appeal against the verdict. “The trial conducted today did not comply with procedures,” he said.

Kem, who was not in court, was convicted of twice ignoring summons to answer questions relating to a case involving his alleged mistress. He refused, saying the legal moves were part of attempts by the ruling Cambodian People’s party (CPP) to cripple the opposition.

Riot police were outside the court and nearly 1,000 opposition supporters gathered in front of the CNRP headquarters, with riot police watching them from about 500 metres (1,640ft) away. There were no reports of violence...

PHNOM PENH (FN), 5 Oct. – Acting president of the opposition Cambodian National Rescue Party, Kem Sokha, who has spent over four months inside the party headquarters, went out this morning at around 10:00 am to the nearby Chak Angrea Leu district office, Khann Meanchey, to get registered for the forthcoming elections.

He was accompanied by a number of opposition lawmakers but he did not allow many party activists to come along with him for concern of traffic congestion and eventual problems that may affect the voter registration process.

Mr. Sokha’s show-up at the district office for voter registration took place just as scheduled and announced by the CNRP in a meeting yesterday during which some party members recommended that Mr. Sokha goes to and gets registered for voting and assign CNRP members to attend the National Assembly meeting...

Lol. The photos of Kem Sokha's "procession" to register to vote look like a pilgrimage. Especially since they end up at a church ? How strange.
