Keep Your Devices 40-80% Charged

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Keep Your Devices 40-80% Charged

Post by wackyjacky »

I'm sure many of you know this already, but I'm a dumbass. I thought you were supposed to go from 100 to 0 to 100 for long battery life. LINK: http://www.wired.com/2013/09/laptop-battery/

Good article, WJ. I will put this into practice.

Any app makers out there who would write one to keep tabs on a battery?

Interesting. I'd probably just take out the battery when at home then as I rarely even use the battery. Laptop batteries tend to last around 2 years in my experience.

That's an even better idea. Why I never thought of that I can't fathom - oh yeah, I'm a dumbass.

Good idea till there is a power cut.

Without the battery you will lose any work you are doing.

get a cheap chinese battery that lasts 10-15 minutes and swap it out when you're at home in 'desktop' mode. then it gives you time to save/etc in a power cut but you still preserve your factory battery for times when you're out and need the longer life.

My Dell has a battery saving option and only lets the battery charge 80% .Its only a $500 laptop so I assume all Dell's have it. :good:
