Karma figures?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

That said, I'd be happy to share some karma around if I could figure out how.
Who needs karma anyway?
One needs to have a certain amount of posts before one can see the + and - buttons near the user's name, they are used to hand out karma... I'm not sure how many posts, though.
I think it's 15. Not certain

What disappointed me on the "old" site was a lack of recognition.

If I bust ass looking up GIFs, video, music, etc. then have no feedback, what's the point?

Karma is a quick way to say, "I saw what you did there."

Not much, but something.

Hey there xxxx!!

General-Z/Cambod here!

I just wanted to inform you that my karma is awesome from K440 for life because I dared to start a new discussion forum for expats in Cambodia, LoL.

So, please don't send PM's to my old K440 accounts (probably including this one too soon) because they have deactivated them and I don't have access to anything you send me or my karma.

Also, feel free to come check out our new site! We already have quite a few K440 users over there, so join the fun and the karma!

We actually want to have a fun forum with the expats here, but without all the negativity you sometimes find on K440.

Also, feel free to register with your current K440 username, or start a new one! We're very easy going.

Anyways, come check us out and let me know what you think! Your feedback and suggestions and karma are valued and appreciated.

The only problem with karma is that some crybaby has no decent responses to a joke about his post and in a hissy fit he decreases another poster's karma.

I could do the same to the offender, but it seems a bit childish.

oooh Timmy in kindergarten might decrease my karma! I'd better agree with him on all points!

Ha. I had one who didn't like me posting youtube clips in individual posts so he clipped me. Then in a PM complained again and pushed me as to why I couldn't do it the way he preferred. I told him he was anal and who cares, then told him to "fuck off". He clipped me again for rudeness. Hilarious.

Yeah, no system is flawless, but please feel free to send us a PM if you notice someone abusing it and we'll look into it.

^ happens to me all the time, 'they' must hate that I'm (currently) in positive territory. Let's be careful not to confuse it with an actual representation of our value - it's just a game folks.
