K440 / CEO keeping_it_riel farewell drinks

Post by bendix »

In line with Cambodian tradition of marking someone's death seven days after his passing, we think it's important to bid keeping_it_riel farewell by getting together for an official 440 / CEO drink next Tuesday night.

So the official keeping_it_riel farewell function will be Tuesday 9 December (the day after is a public holiday). We'll have it at Garage Bar on Street 110 - it seems appropriate because it was one of the few bars you might spot Pete in on his occasional forays into town. Many thanks to tarariverboat for agreeing to host it.

440 will pitch in for a couple of kegs of beer and Playboy said he would do the same personally, so the beers aren't going to run out quickly.

I'll see what we can do about arranging some eats too.

More details to follow.

Wish I could join. Taxis here have quoted me ridiculous rates to get to Garage.

Yea, I thought I'd be able to pay with a tenner and get change.

Actually if you want to keep it in line with Cambodian traditions, it should be held at the home of the deceased and organized by the parents or in this case in-laws. But I suppose any reasonable excuse to lift a few overrides consideration for local traditions.
