Joke of the day, "Woman who scaled Cambodia’s three highest peaks eyes Everest

The JOKE of the matter to me is not only the title of the article, "Woman who scaled Cambodia’s three highest peaks eyes Everest "
But that she thinks cause she "summited" Cambodia's 3 highest peaks (LOL) all under 1,800m
she can now attempt a real mountain.
Even walking, ( that's really all you need do to reach Everest BC at 5,365m) is not a walk in the park

I have nothing against dreams.
Even at my age i still have them,( one is waking up each day)

and this joke,

...Next, Pesey plans to scale Malaysia’s highest peak Mount Kinabalu, and even the world’s highest peak Mount Everest.

“I am studying whether to choose Kinabalu or Everest as both are very high. Since I can’t stand the cold weather, I may choose Kinabalu first,” says Pesey.

Base camp is obviously doable. I have considered that myself....but NO higher!

Of course she could make it to the top everest.
The only thing you need is money and sheer determination. Freakin hell, bob bass and a legion of rich businessman wanna be climbers made it.
There is very little climbing on the ascent just before the summit is the hillary step and the rest is steep walking or crossing ladders in the khumbu icefall.
If she has a genetic talent for high altitude and goes to some other mountains before, she can do it.
By the way, I just climbed the highest mountain in southern Vietnam and it was a bliss.

Hopefully she will make better preparations than the last publicised case of a Khmer on Everest who died of altitude sickness before even reaching base camp. (reminder: https://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/ ... urney-home)

I'm sure with the right preparation and support it is entirely possible for her, and a great aspiration to have. There are less able bodied people who made it further, so why not, good luck to her.

I cycled to both Everest Base Camps, Annapurna Base Camp an over the roof of the world, (dam i wish i was young again)
all you need do, in the case of walking, is put one foot after the other..

Yeah, that bit about not liking cold weather could really be negative for her everest plans. Even in Basecamp it gets extremely cold.
