Joke of the day, "Woman who scaled Cambodia’s three highest peaks eyes Everest
Re: Joke of the day,
Thank you for posting and reminding me why I should stop reading media in general. WAY too many articles with misleading titles and not enough time in the day to read.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 10:33 pm Anyways, I was going to blast her as well, but after reading the article...

This whole thread is rude. Everything starts with a dream. It's pathetic to be an armchair critic of a young person who dares to dream and has some big goals.

Why should dreams and big goals be the domain of the young?RickyBobby wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 8:49 am This whole thread is rude. Everything starts with a dream. It's pathetic to be an armchair critic of a young person who dares to dream and has some big goals.
There was a period of time when I had lost all dreams, had no goals. I have both again. Thank you very much.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Meru Peak is in India. Requiring mountain climbing, hiking, rock face climbing. Climbers do vertical ascents and sleep in port-o-ledges.John Bingham wrote:Where is Mount Meru?

The problem is the dishonest heading, which is happening so often these days it is ridiculous. The Phnom Penh Post has resorted to a dishonest, attention getting heading. The person who copied it to this forum may not have read the entire article.
It is not realistic for a Cambodian girl to summit Everest, and it would be stupid to even try with so many deaths up there. But you need to read the fine print to find out she is only going to base camp.
Dont copy these dishonest, attention getting articles to this forum. If you do, point out the truth.

^Agreed, I thought she was attempting to summit Everest, not reach base camp.

I strongly disagree. It’s not realistic for THIS girl to summit Everest at this time due to little preparation and experience. A Khmer with years of mountain climbing experience, who has already climbed the summit of Kilimanjaro, would be well suited for a summit attempt of Everest.explorer wrote:It is not realistic for a Cambodian girl to summit Everest, and it would be stupid to even try with so many deaths up there. Dear Girl, I expect more from you. You are insinuating that I said only young people have dreams? How far off can you be from my intended message?violet wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 9:00 amWhy should dreams and big goals be the domain of the young?RickyBobby wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 8:49 am This whole thread is rude. I am glad to hear you have dreams and goals. It takes courage sometimes to believe in more. Good for you.

Re: Joke of the day,
She studied in NZ and has a broader experience and education than most Khmer. She has international friends. She has opened her mind to new ideas and possibilities. From where she sits, its not any more crazy than for anyone else to ponder such a challenge. When she started, she didn't even want to be out in the sun, and she hated the whole experience. Her story is inspiring, because she opened her mind to try something new, and she found a passion for it.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 10:55 amI strongly disagree. If she wants to do it, she can train and test herself, and raise the bar and keep going. Its not up to me to tell her its a joke for her to look to the highest reaches.
