Japanese for Jesus

Post by prahocalypse now »

Some bible bashing Japs are going door to door in Kampot. A barang told them to fuck off.

From the Kampot noticeboard
Barang:

Conversation starter
Japanese Bible Thumpers
Seriously!
Yesterday I heard a woman calling out from my gate. From my doorway I could see she was not local. I say hello & go to gate.
Then a man steps forward that was behind my vehicle which I found a bit disturbing. That he was hiding from view till I came to gate. He well dressed & is holding a parasol & a black book.
He says, ''Hello, we are from Japan & today we are spreading the word about the bible.''
My BP soars & I imediately tell them to fuk off & get the fuk off my property.
I despise proselytizers to the nth. degree.
Has anyone else encountered these bible nazis?

The Japanese people are very respectful by nature. I spent many years with them. Sounds like the barang was the asshole in this situation.

When my wife and I first moved to our small rural village from Phnom Penh our first visitors were a car full of Korean youthful evangelists "spreading the joyful message" of JC and the boys.

Seeing a white face in a small Khmer village was thlast thing they had expected and were quite crestfallen. That moment, unknown to me, marked the beginning of the end. All that I wanted to escape from In the big city has since followed me to my obscure Shangrila. The world is too much with us.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Well as long as we are talking about time travel....I mean if you were going to waste your time bringing up the past then you should have just kept scrolling and kept your words of wisdom to yourself. 1942 was a very long time ago. World War 2 wasn't fun for anyone. And we were all assholes. The Japanese people today are all about respect and are very humble people by nature. Turn off your computer, take a step outside that box you have been living in, take a deep breath of fresh air, and go out and meet somebody today. Make a friend. You need some human interaction in your life. Physical contact to soften that hardening heart of yours :)

I lived on japan, five visits all up and i can tell you there is a fine line in being "polite" and " fake".

They actually xenaphobic of the outside world and still hold prejudice towards all other asians.

Similiar to thais they only tolerate outsiders.

Second.

I worked 15 hours yesterday, laying over 1000 tonnes of asphalt earning 600$AUD.

What does any of that have to do with your 1942 comment? You work with them; good for you. I spent 2 years straight with Japanese all day everyday. Lived with them, ate with them, conversed with them (speak fluent), worked with them, and taught them. What they don't like are people who come into their country into their society and think they are going to act however they want. Wrong. You wouldn't invite a stranger into your home and then like it when they do whatever the hell they want in your home and leave without saying so much as a thanks. They are weary of the outside world for a reason. Because the outside world is messed up. But if you step into their world and live the way they do, show them that you have respect for them as a people and their culture, and show them that you are trying to assimilate then you will see that they have very open hearts and minds. You go to their country as an outsider and try to live like an outsider then you will be treated like one. You go to their country as an outsider and try to be Japanese, you will be greeted with more respect and humbleness than you can imagine. And my Japanese friends and Korean friends and I had no problem getting along. Even had a few Thai and Chinese in our group. We had huge Japanese/Korean parties and it was great fun and friendship. So I don't know who you might have been spending time with while you were in Japan but the way you describe the Japanese people is not accurate at all by my point of view. To this day I still keep in contact with many of my friends via the Line App which is what they all use in Japan these days. I have friends all over Japan who would happily welcome me into their home. I don't get how or why your view of the Japanese people became so twisted but maybe try being Japanese and they will do more than just "tolerate you" as a foreigner in their country. Also off topic but damn! that is a lot of money in one day lol. Equivalent to $414 USD for 15 hours of work. Kick ass bro. I work 12 shifts myself and make about $230 a day. Maybe I should go into concrete business for the time being lol.
