Introduce Yourself

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I suspect maybe a communication breakdown or a failure on my part to communicate effectively.

When I said 'I never got shit on' blah blah I meant no one gave me a hard time, rather than taking a metaphorical dump on me. Maybe a problem with NZ slang and more generally accepted language.

Please don't let my 'Hello, my name is GeeMan' itro become a thin excuse to slag 440. Again, if I've mis-read your reply then peace brother.

Personally, I always thought being understood can be quite boring at times, LoL.

Yeah. That's an accurate reflection of 'how it was'. What it was at the end was a mangy pack of frail old hyenas that beat themselves into a terrified group frenzy whenever a new lion arrived, so pathetically scared of losing territory and their status in the pack, and (in their minds) 'ownership' of Cambodia. But do carry on, what we're you saying before you dissed much of the CEO membership?

D, at least give the "sarcastic bastard" a right of reply before moving this to the designated bucket.

Shame - I was hoping for better, my optimism obviously got the better of me. I wasn't aware I was 'dissing' anyone, my tone has been nothing but conciliatory.

So much for a brave new world, SC, you certainly live up to your name. Again, a shame.

440 had a pet hobby horse whereby they attacked all things Pattaya. I've been a BM on PA for many years now, and a fundamental ethic there has always been 'nice to be nice'. PA has always been, IMO, a better board for it. Maybe we should consider that here.

Anyho, I've said my piece. Best wishes all

GeeMan, I know your new to this forum. I, myself, am new to Cambodia, Hey Ho! but, from my experience of CEO, if you have a good idea they will listen and act on it ( if you have a crap idea, they will still listen and thank you for your input, although may not act positively on it )

Either way, they will genuinely listen :Yahoo!:

I also think this New Glasnost, is cascading through other forums and this can, IMHO, only be a positive thing

Old,cynical Irishman from the black north of that fair isle. In Cambodia since 2007, first two years in Phnom Penh, then moved to rural Takeo.
